For me,
the street is one of my favourite subjects for photography.
It’s one of the best places for looking at myself and
my place in the world, through mine and others’ experiences.
I’m interested in the relationship between humanity and
its urban environment.
Lets break
down what an urban environment is, and take out the frills.
Essentially
it is a revolution of life around basic building shapes, those
being the circle, square and triangle. Humanity controls these
shapes, and when a building, or space becomes useless, it is
torn down or it will eventually totally erode. We have made
these shapes mutually inclusive to our daily lives. We have
included them into our evolution.
The construction giant Caterpillar has a corporate tag that
tells us straight “We shape the things we build, thereafter
they shape us”.
We all
have to pass through the street at some time and this is where
manwithcamera comes in, sometimes when he’s not wanted.
Make no
mistake. The street is cold and hard in any weather and our
ignorance’s and actions can hurt others whether we mean
it or not.
I’m
basically out there to expose humanities differences and to
discover situations that we could all find ourselves in, at
any time in our lives within a geometric background.
Makes perfect sense to me!
It’s
also a lot of fun and walking and a great way to explore people
and places.
